Terms of use
For the Zava Energy iPhone app and zava.pro. Last updated: 2026-09-09.
Plain language, kept short on purpose. If any of this is unclear, ask us before you rely on it: hello@zava.pro.
What Zava is, and is not
- A comparison, not a supplier. Zava, Inc. shows you electricity offers that suppliers have published to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). We are not an electricity supplier, broker, or aggregator, we do not sell electricity, and we do not enroll you with anyone. If you choose an offer, you enroll directly with that supplier on the supplier's own website, under the supplier's own contract.
- Nobody pays us for the ranking. As of the date above, Zava takes no payment, referral fee, or other compensation from any supplier, and no supplier can buy a better position. The order you see is produced by the same arithmetic for every offer. If that ever changes, these terms and the wording in the app will change first and say so plainly.
- Not professional advice. Zava gives you public facts arranged so they are easier to compare. It is not legal, financial, or energy-consulting advice, and it does not know your household.
Where the numbers come from
- Offers come from PUCO's Apples-to-Apples comparison for your utility territory, captured on the snapshot date shown in the app. Suppliers change prices and terms on their own schedule, so an offer can change or disappear between our snapshot and your visit. Confirm every term on the supplier's site before you enroll.
- Your utility's standard rate (the "Price to Compare") is the rate your utility publishes for the period shown in the app. The rate printed on your own bill governs; the app lets you type it in.
- Savings figures are estimates. Dollar amounts assume the usage shown on screen (1,000 kilowatt-hours a month, PUCO's own comparison basis) and the Price to Compare for the dates shown. Your bill depends on how much electricity you actually use, the rate on your bill, taxes and delivery charges that no supplier offer changes, and the offer you actually enroll in. A figure like "about $67 less a year" is a comparison of supply prices, not a promise about your bill.
- Renewable content is what the supplier reports to PUCO. We do not audit it.
Using the app and the site
- You may use Zava for your own household or to help someone else with theirs. You may not scrape it, resell its output, or present its rankings as your own.
- Do not rely on Zava as your only check before signing a contract with a supplier. Read the supplier's terms; they, not we, are the other party to that contract.
- The app is provided as is. During the TestFlight beta it is unfinished software: it may have bugs, its data may be stale, and builds expire. We do not promise that it will be available, accurate, or uninterrupted.
Links to other sites
Supplier, PUCO, and Ohio Consumers' Counsel links open those organizations' own websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say or do, and following a link is not an endorsement of the supplier. Our links are plain links: they carry no referral code and nothing that identifies you.
Your privacy
The app collects nothing about you; the website collects only what you choose to give it. The details are in the app privacy notice and the website privacy notice, which are part of these terms.
Intellectual property
The Zava name, mark, app, and site are ours. The offer facts belong to the public record, and the suppliers' names and terms belong to the suppliers; we reproduce them so you can compare, not to claim them.
Limits on our responsibility
To the extent Ohio law allows: we are not liable for losses that come from relying on an estimate, from a supplier's offer changing, from a supplier's conduct, or from the app being unavailable or wrong. If the law does not allow us to exclude a liability, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us to use Zava, which today is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act or any other law that cannot be waived.
Changes to these terms
We will change these terms only by posting a new version here with a new date, and the app will point to the current version. Continuing to use Zava after a change means you accept the new terms. We keep every earlier version; ask and we will send you one.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio. Questions, complaints, and corrections: hello@zava.pro. If you believe an offer shown in Zava misstates what a supplier published, tell us and we will check it against PUCO's record and fix it.
